CORK HONOURS ITS OLYMPIC BOXING GREATS

…with a plaque in Bishop Lucey park off Grand Parade.

These 9 boxers now have the honour of sharing wall-space alongside plaques commemorating the careers of fellow Cork natives Jack McAuliffe (the great Lightweight champion of the 1880s-90s & one of the only men to ever retire as an undefeated world champion), and Mick Leahy (conqueror of an aged Sugar Ray Robinson).
